Where do the teams practice?
Our practice fields are located Johnson High School, 4260 FM 967, Buda, TX. 78610.

How long are the practices?
Currently we have practice ( 2 ) times a week for at least ( 2 ) hrs each time from 6-8pm.  As daylight savings and visibility interfere, coaches may adjust practice time to maximize visibility.

What leagues do you offer?
CFPO-PAL offers flag football for kids entering Pre-K and Kindergarten and tackle for kids entering first through sixth grade.

How is registration handled?
All registration will be handled online through our webpage in order to receive all the parent contact information, player information and waiver information which is entered via the registration process.

What are the ages groups?
-Mighty Might Flag 5-6 years
-8U Pee Wee 7-8 years
-10U Juniors 9-10 years
-12U Seniors 11-12 years

(age determined by age as of September 1st of that year)

What do the players have to provide?
Each player must have:  practice jersey, practice pants, cleats, cup, mouthpiece, and their own water source/jug.

What is the cost for flag and tackle football?
The registration fee for flag football is $100 and covers the cost of your child’s game T-Shirt (personalized with name) & game shorts. Flags are provided by the league.

The registration fee for tackle is $195 and covers your child’s game jersey (Personalized with name), game pants, helmet, and shoulder pads (helmet and pads returned to Jaguars at end of season). You will be required to provide practice jersey, practice pants, cleats, cup and mouthpiece.

Are fundraisers mandatory?
Mandatory seems like a harsh term, but we use it to express the real necessity for them.  Fundraising is the way we keep registration costs low.  There is an opt-out fee at the time of registration if you would rather not participate in the team fundraiser.

What is Summer Camp and is it mandatory?
The summer camp is a fun, instructional camp designed to introduce kids to football through several no-contact drills. There are typically two camps, taking place in June & July.  While we encourage kids to attend, it is not mandatory. We believe it’s a great opportunity for kids to come out and interact with other kids and coaches leading up to the season.

What equipment does my child need for tackle football?
Buda Jaguars will provide your child with a helmet and shoulder pads as well as a game jersey, game pants. You will be responsible for providing practice jersey (white, red, gray, black preferred but any color is acceptable), football padded pants (white, red, gray, black preferred but any color is acceptable) with leg pads (thigh, hip and knee) as well as football cleats and any other accessories you’d like your child to have (such as gloves, visors, etc). As part of your registration fee, you will receive game jerseys with your child’s last name on them as well as game pants. Your child will be able to keep their jerseys and pants at the end of the season.

***If your child already has a helmet and/or shoulder pads, he/she is more than welcome to use those provided they are suitable.***

How does my child get fitted for pads?
There are two equipment fitting sessions each year and these will be posted on our social media and our website. It is mandatory that your child shows up for one of those fittings. The board members and volunteers responsible for fitting the kids have been trained by the equipment manufacturers to ensure each child is fitted properly.

Also, if your child is using his/her own shoulder pads, make sure to bring them to the fitting to ensure your child’s jersey is properly fitted.

Can my child pick his/her number?
During registration, tackle football (1st – 6th grade) players will be given the option to provide us with their top three number preferences. We do everything we can to accommodate each child but can’t guarantee we will be able to give every child their first choice.

Can I volunteer to coach?
Buda Jaguars relies entirely on volunteers to coach and is always looking for parents who love teaching kids the game of football. If you’d like to volunteer, please register as a volunteer (either head coach, assistant coach, team dad/mom) and someone will reach out to you. Because we take the safety of our kids seriously, you will be required to complete a background check and be required to complete the USA Football Heads-up Training links located under “Volunteer Info” tab

How does Buda Jaguars select coaches?
Despite being 100% reliant on volunteers, the Buda Jaguars board holds high standards for its coaches. In order to coach a Buda Jaguars football team, a coach must complete the USA Football Heads-up Training. The Buda Jaguars board expects coaches to hold the child’s safety and well-being as their number one priority. We look for coaches who understand football and have a love for teaching kids. While we all are competitive, it is important that coaches understand the game is about the kids, not the coaches. If you are interested in coaching a team, register as a volunteer and someone will reach out to you soon.

Who should I speak with if I have a concern I need to discuss?
If you have a concern you’d like to discuss with someone regarding your child, his/her team or something you witnessed that violates our Code of Conduct, please refer to our Grievance process located under the "Information" tab.

Is there a code of conduct that must be followed?
Yes. Every player, parent, coach and board member must agree to follow a code of conduct that is outlined when a parent registers a child and when a coach registers to volunteer. You are expected to be a positive representative of Buda Jaguars Football and Cheer during practices, games and any other time you are engaged in Buda Jaguars events. Anyone who is found to be in violation of this code of conduct could be suspended. If you believe someone is not living up to that code of conduct, please let a Buda Jaguars board member know.

Do I have to pay to enter the CFPO-PAL San Marcos football field to watch my child play?
Yes, there is a $2 parking fee per vehicle per game, or $10 season pass per vehicle payable at the entry way leading into the fields.
